$10 NY Philharmonic Tickets

Just a quick posting of the e-mail from Dr. Celenza that Allison sent around via e-mail to get in the habit of this blogging thing!

Dear University Music Professor,

Washington Performing Arts Society is pleased to offer $10 student tickets for the New York Philharmonic, this Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The program is Tchaikovsky’s Suite No. 3 and Symphony No. 4 with Lorin Maazel conducting.

Student Tickets are available beginning Wednesday, October 1 and may be purchased from the Kennedy Center Box Office only, in person, with a valid student ID.

If you could, please let your students know about this great opportunity to hear the NY Phil.

Inaugural Post!

Hey everyone,

The board has decided to start keeping a blog of useful information for current and prospective members of the orchestra in order to keep everyone up to date and informed in the easiest way we know how--the internet. Once we start getting more posts, we'll organize them into useful labels, like auditions (finally, a good place to get the final word on requirements/times/etc. without having to be on the roster from the semester before!), upcoming concerts, interesting opportunities from the department of performing arts, and of course, social events.

For now, let us know if you have any suggestions for what you want to see posted, either by telling one of the members of the board or by e-mailing us at our shiny new board e-mail, georgetownorchestra@gmail.com (we're creative, I know).
